Can Claude generate videos?
Not by itself. Claude writes text and code. There are three ways to get video out of it:

Set it up in Claude (web and desktop)

Set it up in Claude Code
Add the server from your terminal, then sign in from inside Claude Code.
Then run /mcp, pick inreels and complete the sign-in. Prefer an API key? Create one in your inReels settings and see the connect page for the header version, plus Cursor, Codex and ChatGPT.
What to ask Claude for
Use inReels to make a 10-second UGC ad for this product. A creator holds it and says why she loves it. 9:16. Quote the price first.
Make a 5-second product video of my serum bottle on wet marble with slow light, 9:16, no people.
Use inReels to make a 60-second faceless video about the history of coffee, with voiceover and captions.
Generate a 1:1 static ad: my product on a bold orange background with the headline "Made to last".
Make 3 versions of that ad with different hooks so I can test them on Meta.
Give Claude a public link to your product photo. It uploads it to inReels with the upload tool, then builds the ad around it.

What it costs
- Connecting and browsing models, voices and prices is free.

FAQ
Can Claude generate videos?
Not by itself. Claude writes text and code, so on its own it can write a script, a storyboard or code that renders an animation. To get real AI video (people, products, voiceover), you connect a video generator to Claude with an MCP connector, and Claude calls it for you from the chat.
What is an MCP connector?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way to give Claude new tools. A connector is a URL that tells Claude which tools a service has. Once inReels is connected, Claude can quote, generate and check on videos and images without you leaving the chat.
How do I add inReels to Claude?
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste https://www.inreels.ai/api/mcp and sign in with your inReels account. In Claude Code, run the claude mcp add command on this page, then /mcp to sign in.
Is it free?
Connecting is free and read-only tools (models, voices, prices) cost nothing. Generating images, video or voice uses inReels credits. Claude asks for a quote first, the quoted price is exactly what is charged, and failed runs are refunded in full. Finished ads (create_ad_video) need a paid inReels plan.
Which video models can Claude use through inReels?
Video models including Seedance, Kling, Veo 3.1, MiniMax and Wan, plus image models and ElevenLabs voices. Claude can list them with list_models and pick one, or use the ad and faceless video tools that choose the model for you.
Does it work in Claude Code and Claude Desktop?
Yes. The same connector URL works in Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Claude Code. It also works in Cursor, Codex and ChatGPT. See the connect page for each client.
Can Claude edit videos?
Claude can write editing code (for example with FFmpeg or Remotion in Claude Code) and run it on your files. For generating new footage, ads or voiceovers, it needs a generator like inReels.
